Who we are
South Pier Co., LLC ("South Pier", "we") is a small business that makes and sells NFC tag products. This policy explains what information we collect when you buy from us or contact us, how we use it, and your choices.
What we collect
When you check out on our website. You enter your name, email address, card details and, if you choose shipping, your address on Square's checkout page. Square processes the payment. We receive your name, contact details, address and what you ordered from Square so we can fill the order. We never see or store your full card number.
When you pay a custom or school order. We send you an invoice through Square, and the same applies: Square handles the payment, and we receive the order details.
Order details we keep. Your name, phone number, email, address, any note you leave with your order, due date, and any personalization for your order (for example the name, phone number, email or link you want on a tag).
When you ask for a tag through "Ask for yours". The form sends your name, email, organization, quantity and message to us by email. The website itself does not store it.
What we write on your tag. The contact card, text, phone number or link written onto your tag is stored only on the tag. Our tag-writing system does not keep a copy.
Your shopping cart. The cart remembers the items you picked and your pickup or shipping choice, only in your own browser, and clears them after you buy.
Visit counts. Our website does not use tracking cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, such as how many people opened each page. It uses no cookies and does not identify you; we only see totals.
How we use it
- To make, program and deliver your order, and to arrange pickup or shipping.
- To send receipts, invoices, and messages about your order.
- To answer your questions.
- To keep business and tax records.
We do not send marketing email. We only email you about your order or to answer your questions.
Who handles it
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the services we use to run the business:
- Square takes payments and holds checkout and invoice details. Its privacy notice: https://squareup.com/us/en/legal/general/privacy
- Microsoft 365 delivers and stores our email, including "Ask for yours" requests.
- Cloudflare hosts our website and our private order records.
- Microsoft OneDrive stores our backups.
- A shipping carrier delivers orders you choose to have shipped.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces on our website; your browser loads them from Google.
- YouTube plays a video on our memorial page only after you press play. Until then, nothing loads from YouTube.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for 7 years, for tax and accounting records, then delete them, including from our backups. Emails not tied to an order are deleted after 2 years. Backups are replaced on a rolling 30-day cycle.
How we protect it
Our order records are kept in a private system that only the owner can sign into. Payments are handled by Square. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep access limited to what the business needs.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing steven@southpierco.com. We respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some order records for tax purposes, and we will tell you if that applies. Deleted information drops out of our backups within 30 days.
Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. School orders are placed by the school or an adult, not by students.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date.
